i have the mods listed below. i was thinking about either gears, an ls6 intake, or porting my tb. none produce huge gains. the car doesnt really see the track, just mainly highway racing. should i just wait till i can afford something a little more expensive? just curious to hear different opinions.

Do the ls6 intake.I put one on mine and I notice it in the high rpms.My exhaust note change also and had a better acceleration feel. You dont need gears since you have the stall.Ypu should get 10-15 hp with the intake.

I would buy the ls6 intake and get the TB ported. I'm in the same boat....i need to get an ls6 intake w/egr and its more expensive. I will be paying $500 for 10-15hp but it has to be done

one thing i never understood about the ls6 intake. since the later model camaro/firebirds had the ls6 intake stock wouldnt that mean that they have a few extra ponies than the 98-99's or is there something to compensate?

The gears are going to get you the best 'SOTP' mod, but for a stalled auto car that is going to be doing mainly highway runs than i would go with the intake/ported tb

intake, gears are a simple way out of actually making power. If you road drive the car like I do gears are going to kill your mpg and make the car less enjoyable in imo. Plus you have to remeber each part builds of the other, you have the exhaust uncorked, but you can not stuff enough air in right now to get the best flow. The intake and TB will make a big difference in actual performance, and thinking this way, hypothetically(numbers are just examples) say headers add 20 at optimal condictions, well, you might only be getting 15 from them with out the intake, so you might be surprised what you actually gain with the right combination of parts.
