other than the material and durability of metallic cats, is there any difference between metal matrix and stock ones (ceramic matrix)?

Well Cermic based cats when they break down, and they will will leave major chucks stuck in the exhaust. My buddies 402 cid LS2 based motor blew out the cats and majorly stuck in a LM1 exhaust, we had to take it apart to fix, we got meatball (pool ball size, and golf ball size) chunks.
