By heat pipe do you mean the front coolant pipe? If so then you can't just ditch it. You have to buy the LS6 front coolant pipe with the rear pipe blockoffs. My LS6 front pipe didn't allow the FAST to bolt all the way down in the front but I just lightly tapped the front of it with a hammer in the center to get the pipe to bend down towards the block...problem solved.

You can just get the block offs for the rears. I got mine from the dealer for like 35 bucks for the front coolant pipe and the block offs. You do not require a fuel pressure regulator because its in your tank.

It's not the regulator. If it was the regulator it would have a return line. I'm assuming it's a baffle of some sort.

Everyone else is pretty on target w/ the coolent piping. The thing in your pics is a device that helps regulate the fuel between the two rails if Im not mistaken. The auctual pressure regulator is in the tank right beside the pump. I think that if you just use the crossover piping that 1320 killer has you should be good. Im not an expert w/ fuel systems though so if Im mistaken just post up.
