Question Where does this go? Something about getting air out of the coolant.

My question is about the tube end in the center of this picture. At the moment, it has a rubber cap and a hose clamp on it. I know it has something to do with getting air out of the coolant. I just put this engine in my RX7 and am having overheating problems. I have no idea where this is actually supposed to connect to. I have a feeling it passes through the throttle body, but then where? thanks is advance for any replies!

It looks like someone did the throttle body bypass mod to me.

It does go to the throttle body and then to the radiator from the factory, but most people by-pass the TB. I usually put a 5/8"x1/4" heater hose tee in the hose from the water pump to the heater core and connect from there to the vent line.

Hey guys, thanks for the input! So should I connect it to a high pressure part of the system like the radiator, or can I plumb it to the overflow tank? I have a Summit racing radiator which overflows into a non-pressurized tank.

definately not to the overflow tank, it needs to go back to the radiator. if you have a connection on the radiator this would be the best place for it, if not just connect it to a heater hose so it can circulate back into the pump.
