The K&N was on the Car when I bought it and I highly doubt that there was a horsepower loss when he switched over from the stock lid to the K&N. Plus I am planning on getting the Ultra Z hood soon and I think the K&N would be the best for that setup.

good luck with that. anyone can make a dynograph in MS paint. which means K&N can too. get a lid with SSRA or FTRA and get cold air into that engine. you two newbies need to do some searching, this topic has been beaten to death. its proven that the K&N actully hurts performance when compared to a lid and SSRA/FTRA. while i agree that the K&N is an improvement over stock, anything is an improvement over stock. and i would reccomend if your going to get the Ultra Z hood, get the Volant CAI, it will seal to the hood and not let any hot air from the motor in.

with the Ultra Z, you have the best choice. but for anything else, a lid/RA setup is better. there is no way cool air can get to the K&N FIPK as well as it can with a RA setup. unless you modify the K&N setup. which really gets you no where except to a 300 dollar peice of equipment that is practically worthless if you ever plan to sell it. the equivlent to this is a lid with the FRA mod.
