He's been a family friend for years and years and he's like im going to build you an awesome motor... i told him not to go crazy bc its my daily driver. I have no idea what he's doing... it all spanish to me lol... but he's putting a

Stage 2 cam??.. what is this?
port and polish the heads
ported the heads and put in oversized pistons

i have to get the details but what is this basically lol.

just make sure he knows these newer engines cannot have slop in them like the old schools. the tolerances have to be tight as hell.

If it was my car, i'd have some exact numbers. Cam size, bore, what type of cylinder heads, valve size etc... The LSx motors are not the same as SBC's, and can't be built the same way. I'd get some more details if i were u.

Haha, I would be looking somewhere else if they told me they were going to put in a state 2 cam. Sounds like the old school guys talking about their 3/4 racing cams which they probably never knew the specs of. Either way, good luck.

This has got disaster written all over it. Im sorry but anyone that classifies themselves as an "old school racer" is going to have a very hard time with these newer engines. Times have changed but old habits die hard. And often, not at all. It is ALOT more technical than it used to be. I would seriously reccommend NOT doing this.
