in layman terms think about it as (your engine) pushing against a wall (cats). if there is no wall (no cats) to push through would it be easier to do?

This guy was trying to tell me that having one cat would rob me of tons of power. Right now i have no cat and was possibly going to put on one high flow cat. Would you guys recommend that?

Having high flow cats will not rob much power, about 10-15rwhp maybe. And I mention cats because most people mount 2, one on each bank after the collector.
Either way, get a dyno tune. And ditch that POS Hypertech III! Those things are garbage!
