Default LS6 intake or LT headers?

I have a 2000 TA (Lid, LM Exhaust, UD Pulley, P/P TB) and was wondering which will give me better gains: LS6 Intake or LT headers. Thanks

Go with longtubes...it'll feel like an entirely different car. LT's woke my car up A LOT.

Well that is a tough choice. The basic idea behind an engine and modifications is to increase efficiency. The ideal being maximum intake flow as well as exhaust evacuation. Both are basic mods that should be considered equally worthwhile. If it was my choice I would get the headers first to be honest. The LS1 intake has alot to be desired but will work in the mean time while you save more cash. The headers, depending on manufacturer are and will be leaps and bounds ahead of stock cast iron manifolds. You will likely notice a big difference when you do them, I know I did. Plus when you bolt on that intake at a later date it will make it work even better because now you have that ability to empty cylinders at a better rate thus applifying the benefits of a higher flowing intake.

Whatever you do second will give you more of a SOTP feel. If you do LS6 intake first you won't feel the differences right away due to the stock manifolds, cats, and smashed y-pipe restricting the exhaust flow. If you do the LTs first you won't get the whole benefit due to the LS1 intake restricting air flow. LTs can only output whatever you put it. You will get a better sound with LTs so weigh your options.

Go for the LT's first. You'll notice a big difference.

i'd say longtubes especially if you are going without cats. you'll get a great power and sound.

LS6 intake would very likely be easier to install though...

I would say that it depends on your ears honestly, with those longtubes and an ORY you may come to very quickly dislike your LM exhaust, you may want to wait till you can do at least a Borlamouth or similar mod with your longtube installation IMO

My last car only saw about 8 rwhp when I waited and did the LS6 later on. That was with cam, lt's, Borla, UDP, etc. I think it did pick up 11 or 12 rwtq though. I'm getting ready to install my lt's and the ls6 intake will be the next hp mod I do.

I did the LS6 intake first, then I did the longtubes... it came down to a cost/timing thing.
