Re: tsp lid compared to slp
I had an SLP lid before. It didn't fit worth anything, and also had hood clearance problems (SS). Put the TSP lid last week, and fit is absolutely perfect, and it doesn't bang my hood. I got the TSP just for the fit, but I'm sure there's a little to gain with it powerwise.

I went with the SLP Lid because i was able to use my factory hose and keep it looking factory.I don't understand how the breather filter works for many of the other lids.

You didn't say if you had an SLP and were looking to switch, or if you were debating SLP vs. TSP. So, that said. I have an SLP in my '02 TA. It fits just fine and I dyno'd at 310rwhp (stock+lid), so it seems to work!
I've got no experience with the TSP. Good luck either way.

SLP OE lid is a much higher quality lid vs the Performance Parts SLP lid, Installed the OE lid and there was a sop performance increase and fit very well doesn't rub on hood.

Re: tsp lid compared to slp
Eddie,
That's right. If you're replacing the stock-type lid with an aftermarket unit that doesn't have the hose attachment, all you have to do is unplug the AIR hose from the old lid and clamp the little breather filter onto the hose. Most people also shorten the hose and tuck the filter off to the side to get it out of the way.
The main concern is that you are not pulling unfiltered air into the AIR hose. It should either pass through the panel filter (like the stock and SLP lids) or have its own little filter like most all aftermarket lids.

I have an 02 T/A WS.6 and I dynoed 325 rwhp with only an SLP lid and K&N filter. I may have a strong car, but I also feel the lid helped a lot.
I would think of changing if I thought the TSP lid would give me even more.
Just my .02
