Ok guys, here's my problem. My car had been blowing oil onto my pan, and immediately I thought it was the rear main seal. But after a few oil changes and monitoring it more closely, I noticed that it is coming from where the oil filter meets the motor. I know there is some sort of gasket there, but does anyone know what exactly it is or called? Part number? I tried NAPA and Murray's and they didn't have anything like a oil filter gasket or something close to that. It is not a lot of oil, but I need to get it fixed for piece of mind. Let me know your thoughts, thanks!

Are you talking about the gasket for the oil diverter plate (bolted on the pan right above the oil filter by two 10mm bolts)? Other than that, just the rubber filter that comes on the oil filter. I hate to ask, but did you take off the old oil filter gasket, sometimes they stick on the mating surface?

make sure you dont have one of the old gaskets from the oil filter stuck to the pan

No, it's not the gasket from the oil filter itself stuck on there. It is the thing that is bolted with the two 10mm bolts, that Krab mentioned.

Well, if you ever wanted to do an oil cooler.. W2W sells a kit that bolts up to where the diverter plate is.

If not, they could probably hook you up with a new gasket for it since they probably supply one for their kit to seal.

man i have that same prob! i hate parking places knowing that when i leave people will see 4 drops of oil...(pos) lol

i thought my threads might have got stripped and i might need to buy a new pan, but maybe there is a gasket that will fix this.

Well, mine doesn't leak THAT bad. There is no drops dripping down onto the ground. It is only blowing all over the pan. I guess I'll try the dealership on Monday. No parts stores seem to know what the hell it's called.

If you can't find a gasket, I would just try some rtv silicone
