Question 180* Thermostat?

What degree thermostat can i install in LS1 w/out programming and see a difference in temps? Ecklers has a 170* w/a ported housing. I also know there are 160* and 180* therms. Thanks for your help.

I thought tuning is needed to get the fans to come on.

I might just get the 180* and the slp fan switch.

What year is your car? My owners manual says mine came with a 180.

You can see better temps by just programming the fans (no thermostat required). The stock fan temp ranges are pretty far up there. I never even had to touch my thermostat to keep my car running under 200. You should really look into that before you go hog wild messing with the thermostat. I found it to be unnecessary.

Mine is a 1998. I have been researching the fan switch today and might just do that. It looks pretty simple to install and should help with temps.
