well, if anyone wants to know how to attract cops...I have the recipie:
1 package of Hooker longtubes
2 boxes of Magnaflow metallic spun cats
1 H pipe (for flavor)
1 medium powerstick on each side
top it all off with a touch of Corsa clones
idle is sweet, low RPM cruise is a lil loud....anything over 2800 RPM is noticeably loud....like....COP LOUD!
I have about 4" of ground clearance at my lowest point.....but damn does it sound great!!!

nope, all over the axle, 2.5" tubing....it bangs the floorboard a bit on the driver side...but nothing a lil heater hose trick won't fix. It has absolutely no rasp at all, I was so impressed with the sound. I just hope I can fend off the popo for awhile. All together, it took about 7 hours to bend all the pipe, make everything fit, and weld it all up. Plus, my buddy's shop did the work for free, so I have a true dual setup for under $250 in parts.

I don't know how to take/post sound clips....anyone have a suggestion?
I may be over-exaggerating the sound levels, because I have been driving a 2003 Bonneville for 5 months and have gotten used to how quiet it is. My Grand National has 3.5" downpipe, into a 8" long bullet muffler, and 3.5" pipe right out the back and I think that the Z is louder than that.
My buddy's truck is a 2005 Tundra with the I-force V8, shortie headers, stock cats, and 2.25" straight pipe out the sides before the rear axle...and his truck registered 94 dB with the tester being exactly 25 feet from the exhaust tip....and mine seems louder than his truck.

I got the tips from Joshua...I hope that's okay, I can't remember if he's a sponsor or not...if he isn't, then I didn't get them from him.
I should have pics posted up on Saturday...we have to do some minor adjustments and wrap the fuel lines. I drove it around some today and it seemed to be kinda easy to get used to...for now.

That's good to know, I'm getting some put on in a few days, I believe. Will also be checking back for some pics.

I'm in Bloomington....and my friend at Tuffy did the work for me. We have some minor banging issues to deal with on the pass. side now, but other than that, it seems to be working out pretty well and I'm finally getting used to the sound.

no no no...don't say cam! I told myself to stop modding the daily driver BEFORE I did the headers. That's exactly how my Grand National became a 11.21 "street" car that I can't drive on the street without budgeting for race gas.
