wiring gurus needed.... elec. cut-out & wot switch
ive been wanting a electric cut-out for a while now, this morning it clicked on me, i wanna wire up my electric cut-out on a WOT switch and also a manual switch. kinda like the new Z06s, so when im racing i dont have to do three things at once(drive, shift, and open the cut-out) has any one done this?
what i want is for the cutout to open while at WOT and then ill manually close it when im done with the race.
think of it like the SLP fan switch or nitrous, thats how it came to my mind. im just throwing an idea out there.
any input appreciated?

That (auto open, manual close) is pretty simple. I would use
a relay (Radio Shack, 12VDC coil, DPDT; don't know a number
for an automotive DPDT if they exist). Parallel the normally
open contacts with the cutout "open" switch terminals, the
common relay contacts with the switch common contacts,
and run the relay coil off your WOT switch.
You will be energizing the cutout motor for the duration of
WOT, this is probably OK. The problem of not-energizing it
indefinitely, for auto-close, wants some circuitry for a timer
function.
Electric cutouts open kinda slow, but probably within the
time span of first gear where you don't need it all-in anyway.

i just thought about something else, if its open all the way and im making say a top speed run, wouldnt the current blow the motor out or fry the wire, that controller is nice but not worth $110 IMO. so nobody has done this before?
