Question mass air flow circuit malfunction code

my stock maf is throwing a mass air flow circuit malfunction. does this mean i should replace the whole maf. my car is completly stock except for an slp airlid. if i should replace it should i get a oem maf or an slp maf

DO YOU HAVE A K &N?1?! perhaps the oil got the maf dirty...thats what everyone here usually complains about

Check your ENG SENSOR fuse first, or measure the
harness voltages at the MAF. It wants +12V, a weak
+5V (output pullup) and GND. +12V comes off the
ENG SENSOR fused branch. You should get the specific
code, some of them are just bitching about reading
values and some indicate hard failures. You may not
need to replace anything, check it out.
