Question CAT hitting floor

Installed Magnaflow cats..dr.side hits floor when 1/2 throttle or more is applied...would this cat burn a 3/4" thick, square section of tire placed in between floor and cat.??? it has a heat shield....

I don't think you'd like this answer but I've just cut a 2" X 4" rectangle in the crossmember just above the drivers side cat'. I'm planning on having it put back in and welded later on so I saved the piece I cut off.

The cats' can get hot if you DD the car, so if you could get over the smell you might be okay.
