MSD LS2/LS7 coils in high CR/high rpm/boosted application? I am building a drag motor for a 2000 Camaro and would like to know if anyone has experience with running an MSD setup (6010 controller, 8247 coils) in a similar (or more extreme) engine package. The engine is naturally aspirated and is an LS2-based, Darton sleeved, 14:1 CR, All Pro Cylinder Head, carbureted, big cam, drag only engine that will see 7500+ rpm.
Do the LS2/LS7 coils (p/n 8247) produce enough spark energy for this application?
Is the 6010 box the correct controller? I understand that I will need to use the 24t crank reluctor wheel and 1x cam gear and that the cam sensor extension harness will be needed with the LS2 engine.
