Electrical contact cleaner from Radio Shack and a few q-tips, be very careful obviously. It is a good idea, it solved my detonation problem.

CRC makes an aerosol MAF cleaner that you can pick up for about $4 at any autoparts store. *shrug*

Spraying w/CNC MAF cleaner is the safest. Just spray it a couple of times and it evaporates. You are done.

Another vote for CRC. Works great, why not use the product that is made for the use. Its cheap and you dont need to worry about anything. Yes alcohol will work but why bother with a q-tip when you have a spray made for it. Its not cheaper to use a q-tip in this case.

I'll have to see if any of the local parts stores carry the MAF cleaner some of you are talking about. So far, using good old house-hold rubbing alcohol in a spray bottle has worked well for me.
