Default Before heads/cam - what am I missing?

Ok guys..

I am gearing up for a set of heads and a cam..

I think I am going to go with a set of Patriot Heads and their 226 cam..

Now,

These are the mods I currently have on the car..

Fast Toys Ram Air..
LS1 Motorsports Lid with the all mighty K&N..
LS6 Intake...
Hooker Long Tubes with a custom ORP..
GMMG Exhaust..
Vigilante 3200 converter..

I don't plan on ever hitting the track in the car.. I've come this far and haven't, so I doubt I will.. Just for the occasional street run.. I don't even do that too often, only when someone is askin' for it..

So anyway..

I am sending my TB out to get ported/polished this week..

and I am thinkin' about pickin' up a pulley, but I can wait on that..

Anything else I should have on the ride before I go heads/cam?

Thanks

J

maybe some plugs and wires if you havent changed them in a while or if they are stock and if you are doing heads/cam, then wait till after to get the tune because you WILL have to after so no point in doing it twice in a short amount of time.

Yeh, I am going to get it all tuned out after the cam/heads so I think I'll wait on that for now..

It needs plugs.. bad.. I'm at 84K on stock plugs.. I'm planning on changing all that when I have the thing torn apart..

gears and girlde might as well do the pulley when youve got everything off...if you havent had a tune now might be a good time to have it done should be able to hold you off on the h/c and once you get re-tuned wont cost a whole lot more

Well if you are doing heads and cam, then I'd recommend doing it all. Springs, retainers, valve locks, hardened pushroads. You could get the whole kit from Texas-Speed or ThunderRacing for 599.99-709.99.

If you are thinking about doing an ASP pulley later on, do it now. The labor is virually free since they have to take the stock one off anyways. Oh yea Melling H.O. Oil Pump also.

Thanks for all the replies guys..

Batmobile - I do plan on doing "it all."

I think I have pretty much settled on the Patriot CNC ported 243 castings with their 226 cam.. The heads package will come with springs, retainers, etc..
