Default Might build my own headers, but I have a few ?s

First of all I did do a search and all the threads that came up were 1 3/4 vs. 1 7/8 stuff or gains going to a 1 7/8 header. The only headers made for trucks currently are 1 3/4 and since Im running a 420 with WCCH 245 heads and a big shot of nitrous I think I could stand to gain quite a bit going to a 1 7/8 headers from the 3/4s. Im going to be strapping either a KB 2.8 or Whipple 3.3 on there within the next year or so, so Im going to be moving alot of air. Im not worried about low end TQ as I have all that I could ever want even in my heavy pig(5600#s). I know Im going to go with 1 7/8 primaries, should I step them up to 2"? If I should at what point do I put the step at? I plan on using HVMC's to further the gain over my 1 3/4 setup right now. What kind of gain do I really stand to gain going from a 3/4 to a 7/8 and possibly stepping it and going from a regular collector to a HVMC setup? I figure Ill have about 600 or so into the headers and probably a weekend of fab work to get it to work. The time to fab it isnt a big deal since this is my toy and not a DD so if it is down for a month so be it. So I guess what Im really trying to figure out is it worth my time and money for the gain that Ill realize by swapping to this type of header. Opinions or links to some threads that I didnt see are appreciated.

My little 346" gained over 3 mph and lost .3 tenths going to a 1 7/8" with a better design. I'd say your FI motor would gain the same if not more.
