Default Stock WS6 catback vs. Hooker catback?

Well i am debating on changing my catback on my WS6 but i have been told by many people that the stock WS6 catback flows very well, i was just wondering how much of this is true? I cant decide whether to change my catback to Hooker or leave the stock catback and just get the SLP y-pipe replacement to eliminate the cats. BTW i do not plan on getting headers for this car.

May I ask why you chose a Hooker catback? I mean, if you are gonna go ahead and do it, might as well go with a really nice sounding muffler you know... But I have a slowmaster on my car and will not take it out until I can save enough money to get a nice sounding/better flowing muffler. But unless you are set on the hooker I just say leave it in there bud.

If it was me I would just keep the stock catback but install a cutout and a nice set of tips.

Make that an electric cutout. You'll never regret it.

Anyone else have experience with these two catbacks? Maybe a dyno sheet that compares both.

I've heard the Hooker flows VERY well!
http://www.broaderperformance.com/mu...flow_tests.htm

My buddy ( -=Mod=-) has the Hooker CB thru CME... Also LT's and ORY...and MS4 Cam and heads.. That's why it's so loud.. It sounded nice before the H/C just quiet. THe Cam really woke it up!

The Hooker flows well, but will be very quiet with stock manis and cats. If you want it to be near-stock quiet, then the hooker is a good affordable performer. If near-stock quiet is not what you want with your stock manis and cats, then I would avoid the Hooker and go with something else.

What about power gains over the stock WS6 catback? I dont want it to be loud by no means so i think the hooker has that covered.

The Hooker flows with the best of 'em, so you will see the usual gains from a catback. Sound is really the most important item here, so make sure that you really want a near-stock quiet car before you get the Hooker.

I currently have a stock catback with a flowmaster welded in, I just bought a hooker catback I can't wait to see how it works out and if I pick up power. Currently my car picks up a ton when I open up my cutouts.

Bingo. My buddy had one on his LT/ORY car for a while and said he picked up torque compared to his Flowmaster. But he went back to the FM because the Hooker was too quiet. Same with me. I had it on my car for a while when I was fighting rasp. I liked it, but with my catted Y it was just too quiet.
