single plane intake manifold
Real basic question:what is a single plane intake manifold? What kind of intake manifolds come on stock LS1s and LT1/LT4s? What are its advantages/disadvantages? And finally, does anyone have any pics of it(esp. vs. other types of intakes)? Thanks!

2 kinds of intakes:
Dual plane- these are stock on most cars. They interrupt flow and have longer runners and flow less air. They are good for making low end torque, because air turbulance = torque. LS1, LS6, and FAST intakes are dual plane.
Single plane- typically dont come stock on most cars. They are for racing and have very little provisions for torque down low. They have a straight thu design, short runners, and designed for maximum air flow. This would be a sheetmetal intake or a victor jr type intake.

Anybody have any pics of LS1, LT1-LT4, Fast etc.. manifolds with the top off or a cross-section or something. I want to see how the runners are oriented.
