Default ORY that won't hit the floorboard with XS LT's?

I've given up with the XS ORY, and am looking for a different Y-pipe that will not be resting on my floorboard and vibrate the entire car. Does anyone know what Y-pipe will fit to meet this criteria? I'd really appreciate those who have the same combo to respond.

Yeah believe me, I've already kicked myself in the *** for making this mistake. Right now, I really need an alternative for the Y-pipe.

JET-HOT ORY, supposed to work with the d/s being so close to the floor and all, I researched it after I installed my xs headers ;(

My jet-hot y is on its way via WS6store (only place I could find it) or have a custom one made, my local shops wanted far too much so I went ahead and ordered one.

you need to have the colllector on the driver side header v cut on the top and bent down slightly so that the ypipe does not point upward and rub on the floorboard. You could also do it the old fashion way and heat it up with a torch and try and bend it yourself but your better off having it done right. Doing this alone will help and having poly motor mounts too will keep the ypipe off the floor. Its the collector on the header being pointed upward giving you the problem, not the ypipe.

Its a header problem not a y pipe problem. Send it back to where you bought it. If it doesnt fit right, tell them to take it back.

its not that big of a deal, even the $800 headers have issues and we have seen it in threads here on the site. doesnt take much to fix the header issue and you are getting a stainless header for a very good price so you cant expect perfection. people need to appreciate that they do not have to spend a ton of cash just for stainless and that many headers have issues on these cars no matter the price or brand, sometimes its a combo of the car and header just not working out.

Thanks for all the suggestions guys. I really don't want to torch the collector, I'll do that as a final resort if I absolutely have to though.

aaron, do you have any pics of your set-up? Specifically, around the problem area (driver's side collecter and back).

hooker y-pipes seem to fit better than the pacesetter and kooks.

i'd just do an x-pipe to the axle.

Thanks, but been there, done that. I like being able to hear my passengers. Plus, the clearance wasn't that great when I had mine, and that's with the stock springs.

Buy a set of poly motor mounts and tranny mount. I've heard that they minimalize the y-pipe banging a good deal. I bought my set from ws6store for 60 bucks.

I would make sure you have new motor mounts and get a custom y pipe made guaranted to fit perfect. Unles your exhaust shop is retarted then all bets are off.

I've already got poly motor mounts, tranny mount and torque arm bushing. These help with minimizing exhaust/drivetrain movement, but it really doesn't help when your exhaust is already resting on the floorboard.

I'm just going to end up hacking up this Y-pipe and hope for the best.

JET-HOT Y, installed tonight. slipped on really nice. I still added my rubber hose mod just to give it some cushion on the d/s but overall it tucks up really nice and looks sharp.
