are you gettin a LS6 without EGR or you just want it gone for the hell of it? it's actually really easy and texas speed sells the kit you need with the block off plates, but really all you need is some tools and a egr/air delete from a speed shop. i pulled ALL my egr/air off myself, only thing left under the hood is the little air pump on the driver side

The easiest and cheapest thing to do is to take the tube out of the manifold and bend it up and put some filter material over the open tube end. The pump still runs, but it just sucks fresh air - no codes. If you completely remove the pump and block off the intake, you'll throw a code unless you tune it out. Make sure you soak the manifold connection bolts with Liquid Wrench for a while before removing them, so they don't break. I didn't soak them long enough on my truck and I snapped a bolt off in the manifold. I had to have it drilled out.
