Default plugs/wires and detonation?

ok well i was told that the noise i hear at about 5000 + rpm is detonation. now i dont hear it all the time. i was told this could be from having the timing too advanced so i took out my programming and put the stock MAF back on. i still heard the noise. i run 93 octane from 76 and mix in 100 occasionally and still hear the noise. i was told it could be bad plugs/wires. i ordered some tr55's and msd wires. if this doesnt do it then what could it be? and is what im hearing detonation? when i get up about 5000 rpm and higher i feel powerloss sometimes but not all the time and its a raspy noise. i dont know how to explain it any better. its more of a metallicy clingy noise. sounds kinda like its mis firing, kinda....well let me know anything any of u may know about this. thanks

Default Re: plugs/wires and detonation?

If all else fails, go with a MAF translator or tuning to add more fuel.
