fast 78mm or 90/90
hey guys was going to finally get an intake for my car and was wondering if i could get away with running just the 78mm fast intake with factory tb or if i should just buy the 90/90 setup it's be a lot cheaper that's the reason im asking. have the trak cam in it so i dunno if 78mm will suffice plz state your opinions.
thanks.
thanks.

I'd have a Fast 90 intake with the Fast 90 tb and love it. I installed it last week and have had no problems from my tb (everyone made me leery of buying it) it drives stock with no sticking at all. Drives like the stock tb. Now I just wish I had all my parts for my cam swap...

The FAST 90 offers very little over the FAST 78 in my opinion and research says its overkill on a stock displacement engine. I got the FAST 78 cheap (less than $200 used) and got my TB ported and polished ($75) and am very happy with the results for the coin I spent.

I have the PTM throttle body on my Fast 90/90 setup from TSP. So far, it works great. As far as cross over tubes, I had lost my LS6 front tube, so I just brazed off the front tube from a LS1. No problems at all. If you do go 90mm, I highly recommend the lid from Fast Toys with a 90mm opening.

3~5 HP between the FAST 78 and FAST 90

Here is a comparison of LS intakes (no FAST 78 though)

well i think 90/90 is my final choice. a local guy i know gained 39rwhp goin from ls6 to a 90/90 with a smaller cam than i have. and may be putting heads or doing a stroker kit this winter so i think it's a better choice thanks for the info.

Keep saving and get the 90/90 and save a little more and get the intake ported by either Vengeance or Tony Mamo. Face it, we all want more power and we're never satisfied. So by buying a 78mm intake, you are leaving future power on the table. Save some future mod money and go straight to the ported FAST 90/90 combo and that way you won't ever worry about the intake/throttle body being a restriction.
Just like posted above, get a Fast Toys 85 mm intake lid, get rid of the MAF and now you have a direct flow the manifold and you would see a definite gain over the 78mm manifold.
