For anyone who doesn't know what it is:

V-Plus Volt Booster
Your alternator is designed to put out a specific voltage, generally 13.8 volts. The only problem is when there's a greater demand on the electrical system, such as a WOT blast, the alternator falls a little short. The V-Plus is designed to overcome voltage taper at WOT by stepping up the alternator voltage 2.2v. at 70% throttle. Result? More power to your fuel pump and ignition system. Unit plugs in, with no wires to cut or tap into. Includes hardware.

I'm using it on both my cars. It works as advertised. Both cars boost to 14+ volts at 80% throttle. I have verified this with my scanmasters in both cars. The lights go up on the dash et al. As for adverse effects, I don't run my car at 80% throttle for extended periods of time so I don't think 2.2 volts extra is hurting a thing and I'm sure my fuel pump says thanks for the nourishment....

As for recommending it; I would for those who need all the fuel pressure available for boosted or nitrous cars and for ppl who simply want another performance item. I rate it at 8 because it does add one more part where something can go wrong and it doesn't really bolt or fasten anywhere. I have mine zip tied to whatever is convenient. BTW, I also have hotwire kits and external booster pumps so the Volt booster just augments the rest of that modification. When I think about it, I have spent almost $400 per car just to make sure there's good fuel pressure for the rare, rare times I'm using the nitrous - not far from the price of a basic n2o kit.

Is there any significant reason to have this though? i don't expect it to cut your e/t down at all and i don't care if my headlights get brighter. Will my car get a little extra kick at WOT or am I misunderstanding this thing?

Yes you are misunderstanding. The added voltage is fuel supply insurance and only for performance to that regard. If you are making less than 350 hp I wouldn't bother with it.

i would say that it would make you more consistant rather than faster. a more powerful, more stable current will not only ensure your fuel supply is adequate, it will also keep your vital sensors (MAF, IAT, TPS, O2s etc) at peak efficienty when you need it most. more efficiency = less varience in readings = more consistant ETs

The LS1 already has a good fuel system that is good for a lot more than the normal demand. The LT1 is not quite so good. I just arbitrarily used 350 hp as a boundary. The V-plus volt booster is on my cars because I have nitrous wet kits where you can't afford a marginal fuel supply. It's one of those modifications that takes 10 minutes to install, cost about $80 and you almost never think about again. It's probably overkill but that's what high performance is all about.
