True, but in anticpation of putting heads on, it could be a benefit the long run. It is something to consider. I myself is thinking about a Vengence set up with a matched intake to TFS heads, do it all one shot. Its a large nut to swallow but it is done right the 1st time.

my issue now is just getting the FAST 90/90. Heads and cam and headers will come. Guy @ Thunder told me 90/90 on stock LS1 won't cause any problems and should see 20hp gain w/ stock manifolds. He says he has seen the dyno results personally.

Little old guys, heck I saw I replied on this and was wondering what was going on....
Also to add, I learned that its best to have things port matched to the particular cyl head your working with. People tend to take too much and create more issues them solving.
Most times a good clean yup and matching to the cyl heads should be all thats needed.
I had gotten my 90/90 From Vengeance and truth be tolds I bet I made nearly same power going back to a LS6. But after 4 years, you live and learn.

Good info in here, last page has some ported intake info as well...

Dont think a tune is necessary when just swapping intakes. No one gets a tune just when swapping from ls1 to ls6 intake and the fast only nets you +/-20hp/tq more so why would that magically make it necessary to tune for? Fast doesnt mention needing a tune either for just the intake swap on their site..I guess if you like spending $500 on a tune all the time or if you dont plan on modding anymore after the intake install, then go for it but doing that and then needing to again down the road for heads or cam install seems like a lot unnecessary coin spent unless you are going for max hp effort and need to squeeze it all out for whatever reasons.
I would think the higher hp/tq gains are seen from having the tune AND intake at the same time as both will net you more power so its not just all coming from the intake itself and what makes for the different dyno numbers between setups.
