Default broken starter mount

Went to start the car, wouldn't turn over. After third try, head a loud snap. Broke the starter mount at the block. Snapped the metal tab at the front bolt.
Got is push started, so at least the rest is fine.

So far the best solutions I've heard are
1) pull the engine in order to (maybe) welding. Seems it needs to be pre-heated
2) new block

I've found at least two other cases of this on the web, one here:
https://ls1tech.com/forums/archive/i.../t-323498.html

Anybody have a better solution?

Thats the good thing about aluminum you can have that welded back on.
I'd be tempted to lift the body off the frame a bit for access and call a mobile welding service instead of taking it out completely.
Taking it out's not that hard either.
After it's welded you'll need to get a nice straight hole drilled in it and tapped.
I'd have the welder fill the old hole, that will make it easier to get a new one on center.

It's gonna be hard to find a welder to mess with that with the engine together. Reason being the chance of fire from oil and fuel.
