Default 2000 camaro rear end problems

I just purchased a 2000 camaro, pretty much my dream car. Anyway the owner just rebuilt the rear end with 3.73 gears. I put it up on a lift at work because I heard some whining to find the pinion seal is leaking pretty bad. I called the guy at the shop that did the work hoping for some answers. He tells me he has already put in 3 pinion seals and that they keep leaking. I believe him because its a reputable business, but where does this leave me. I was going to put another one in Sat. but I don't want it to just start leaking again. Any ideas

Also I did a carfax and it has a clean title

I just talked to GM and they said they're are 2 different seal possibilities and the VIN doesn't narrow it down. You just have to pull it out and match it up. Does anyone have experience with this?

Is it dripping on the ground?

If not, it's a common problem and the best thing is to just leave it alone. If you're leaving a puddle on the ground then it's a different story.

Sounds like you need to look at mating surfaces better, the shaft and the pinion housing. Good luck
