Gibson Fbody exhaust review...
Pretty much everybody has Corsa, Borla Magnaflow or Hooker exhausts. I figured I'd be different. I may be the only person on this board with the Gibson Fbody stainless exhaust. It came in a huge box and that's needed because it's basically 4 pieces. The I -pipe and the Muffler with the section going over the axle and then the tailpipes(12 inches or so) and HUGE tips. The welds on this system are works of art. The muffler assembly with over the axle pipe does make installation a bit more complicated. First the car will need to be high enough to snake the pipe over the axle and manuever the muffler around. Secondly it's advised to have another person to help fit it onto the brackets. The tips are huge thick wall single exhaust tips with trick integrated clamp brackets. The sound at idle is a nice pleasing rumble and under acceleration it grows louder but not obnoxious or raspy. IMO it sounds better and more refined than Borla. The interior noise level is louder than stock but without resonance-yet you can still hear the burble of the exhaust. It's just loud enough to let you know you have an exhaust but quiet enough to hear the radio(without cranking it up too loud). I immediately noticed a difference in throttle response and it seems to allow the engine to rev a bit more freely. Over all a high quality piece at a downright reasonable price ($450) and excellent choice for daily drivers. The removable tips are great if you want to use other tips. You can find it at LM Performance (site sponsor).
