98 WS6 w/129k on it...... where to start?
Ok, I have just purchased a 98 m6 T/A with 129k on it. The cars runs great , shifts smoot, uses no oil, no smoke or knocks. I want to mod the car but I don't know where to begin. Any suggestions? And how much can the high milage motor handle?

I think a guy on another board I frequent has an ls1 with a 100 shot on a 110K engine and it seems to be doing fine
Also, if you just bought it, how do you know it doesn't burn oil?

believe it or not I didn't acctually buy it the second I posted this.... not to mention inspecting the engine, changing the oil, running the oil and then simply smelling to see if there was any gas in the oil. Thanks for the zero information there

maybe even start by replacing seals if you are worried about it.... do you have service records from the previous owner? but like the others said start with bolt ons that will transfer. Mileage shouldnt matter anyways i just did a heads and cam swap on my 98 z with 100k miles on the motor and it looked brand new

got 118k on mine and after a bent pushrod incident, it's now at CMS for a believed lifter failure... gonna find out soon what the story is... my damage was caused by some very aggressive driving. But if yours is running fine and was treated right i wouldn't be worried.. these engines seem to be very strong and long lasting...
I agree with the above though... just go bolt-ons and basically anything that's transferable depending on how long you plan on keeping the car...
