Has anyone used exhaust manifold donut gaskets on their headers?
I have TTS headers with the old school standard 3 bolt flanges.
I have heard of people using a regular "donut" gasket. Has anyone else tried or used them with good results?
I have been using the Flowtech aluminum ones and they eventually distort from the heat cycling.
Here is what I am looking at.
I test fitted one of the donut gaskets in there and it seems like it is going to work good. The inside of the y pipe looks odd because I welded some pipe in where the cats were.
This is what I had in there. These are the Flowtech soft aluminum ones.
You can see how they distorted.

Well, I tried the donuts. It didn't feel like it had any gasket compression. So I am going to go with some regular gaskets. I am going to try an old school trick. I heard if you get regular paper gaskets and soak them in water they will swell. Then install them and they will conform to any imperfections in the collector surfaces better.
