WAT SIZE BULLET MUFFLER?

WAT SIZE BULLET MUFFLER? Got 2002 z m6 and gonna be running an x pipe and dump it b4 the axle and i was wondering wats the most popular size you peeps go with 12", 16",18" my pipepings gonna be 2.5! thanks in advanced guys! one more question- my jet hot lt dint come with flanges. Im a little confuse on wat flange to order. my collecter is 3 inches and my exhaust pipes are 2.5. Wat I dont understand is ordering flanges when they say 3inch to 2.5inch wat side is the flange on?

If you are using 2.5" pipe for your exhaust, get the 2.5" bullet. The 2.5" OD of the pipe will slide into the 2.5" ID of the muffler, so to speak. The 12" bullet muffler in actuality, is 16" long. The 12" is how long the muffler section is. There is a 2" collar on both sides.

Re: WAT SIZE BULLET MUFFLER? The size of a Z, Formula or Trans am is 2 3/4". The size of a SS, RA or Firehawk is 3". U are right about the 12" bullet, 2" of pipe at each end. They do not make a 2 3/4" dia so he needs to buy a 3" and get it slipped over the I pipe like I did, fits very good and does not leak if welded right.
