Default X Pipe Or Staight Pipes

Im planing on getting my headers and exhaust but not sure what would give me the most power for a having just bolt ons. Not really concerned about the sound just overall power.

straight pipes dont allow for balance between cylinder banks, also sound kind of raspy if i remember correctly. Also the X is better for power and the H for sound, ive seen that stated somewhere before

Let me break it down. Mine i need to a quote for this, i must ahve said this statement like 10,000 times

H = Deep, Bassy, 70's muscle tone.. Also LOW end TQ

X = High pitched, racy, exotic sound... Top End Power

Just have a local muffler shop fab one up, it will be alot easier and cheaper than probably an X pipe to. X-Pipe here!

Overall power the difference between X, H or no crossover is minimal talking 2-3hp and a small change in torque at low rpms which is not enough to worry about. Lots of Drag cars run just mufflers on the collectors though because its lighter and the weight savings outweighs the couple hp across the range you might gain from a crossover. Its really up to you and what sound and how loud of an exhaust you are willing to live with in the car.

What the other guys said about sound is true about sound with an X or H but no crossover with say flowmaster 1 chambers on the collectors doesn't sound raspy at all. It does sound rougher and nastier and pops more but no rasp. I use the term Pissed off... lol!
