Default Exhaust Upgrade

I have the mods in my sig, and am looking to upgrade the exhaust! I want something with more performance and a raspy, classic muscle car sound! Are there any kits that'll be worth spending the money on over my current cat-back? I want a cat back only! I was thinking of the TSP Rumbler because it's $225 w/o tips, I could make it work with my CME tips, and it has the sound I'm after, but was wondering if the performance gain would be worth, if there's any at all???

Borla adjustable Gives a great sound at wide open throttle with the wide open plate. You can always put a electric cutout in place and adjust it to how loud or quite you want it whenever. The tips can be polished up to look really nice. It is a very easy system to install. The system is also stainless steel and will outlast your car.

If you want a raw, unrefined, aggressive muscular sound with some rasp and great volume you'll love the TSP rumbler and SLP Loudmouth. You'd like the borla run wide open also, but you can adjust this catback volume and tone by routing the exhaust through the muffler in varying degrees if you choose to. Sounds like you are looking at the rumbler. It sounds mean as hell too.

I'd say get a TSP rumbler and have it fabbed to your CME, or if you want a stainless system, the SLP Loudmouth.

I really want the rumbler, because with LT's and ORY the loudmouth sounds crappy, too much drone! The borla doesn't fit my budget right now, and I like the open unrestricted sound of the rumbler, so RUMBLER it is!!!

Just some food for thought... I have a loud mouth 1 for sale at $150... 1000 miles of use... real nice condition. PM or email me.

If you had some extra coin to spend, get the GMMG chambered unit. Best out there.

the tsp rumbler aint gonna sound that much different from the loudmouth. mark my words, you will still have a ton of drone and rasp. if i were you, id leave the stock slp dual/dual system and install a cutout in the i-pipe. im assuming you have the slp dual/dual that came on the car.

+1. I think that you will regret doing anything else afterwards (unless you get a Kook's full stainless true dual setup) . You have a real nice system that flows well and a lot of people wish they had. An ecutout gives you total control.

Huh, I may keep it then and go with an ecutout. How good are the borla systems?

I loved my borla adjustable catback. Wish I had never gotten rid of it.

borla is all stainless and is a good catback. it has rasp but nothing like the LM imo. i ran borla with the small plate and it still was pretty loud and it reduced the rasp alot. at the track i run it wide open. i'm just want to quite my car down, only reason why i want to get rid of my borla

Your H/C probably does not help with how loud the Borla can get. It is pretty much a LM1 without the plate in the passenger tailpipe. The Borla is a nice system and is something I would do if I my system wasn't stainless.

His current stainess steel system would be so easy to mod by putting the cutout in the I pipe. $200 for the ecutout setup + cost of welding vice whole new exhaust. I will be doing this very same setup next month (Dynomax stainless cutout, DHM ecutout) on my stainless GM performance exhaust which came on all base model SS's. His CME system is unique and with an ecutout will support a lot of horse power.

Just wait when everything is done and a ricer pulls up next to you at a light. Just pop open the cutout and watch the expression on his face.
