Default true dual cheat sheet

getting ready for the winter projects. one will be putting a dual 3 inch over the axle setup on the SS. i will be welding this up in my shop. so need to order the tubes, mandrel bends shortly. does anyone have a cheat sheet of the number of bends of each degree needed as well as feet of straight tubing and a clamp vendor. just something to get me pretty darn close.

prefer not to spend $1000 or more on a stainless system. just looking for aluminized steel.

I've done my 2 1/2" trual dual setup twice so far and each time was trial and error, cut and fit and cut and fit some more. There is no way I could give you an exact list of bends needed because each setup is unique. I just went through all pics I could find of true dual setups, drew up some rough diagrams, got under the car and did some rough measuring and ordered mandrel bends from various suppliers. Order more than what you need, because there will be goof ups. To do it right, you will have to make some custom bends because it's not going to be a normal 90* or 45*bend to get you around some issues. I did duals over both sides of the axle but if I had to do it it again, I would run both pipes over the passenger side. The biggest issue is where to mount the mufflers. Very little room to mount big mufflers under the floor pan but if you are creative, they can be mounted under the gas tank.

Mandrel bends can be found at:

thanks for the replies. probably will just order a couple 3" builder kits on 6" radius from columbia river and get a few extra bends. need to find a good x pipe setup that will fit nice and tight also.

Thanks. Ground clearance is good. There is 6" from the lowest part of the muffler to the ground and that's at the back of the car with stock springs and the hose mod.

mterveen, have you decided what mufflers you are gong with yet?
