Which ASP Underdrive Pulley??
I was wondering which model ASP underdrive pulley I should get:
1. Model #: ASP948584
Specs: Full charge at 950 RPM
25% Harmonic Dampener Crank, 15% Alternator
2. Model #: ASP948500
Specs: Full Charge at 800 RPM
25% Harmonic Dampener Crank
What is the difference in having a % on the alternator and not? Sorry for the noob question!!

if you run a stereo, or anything requireing increased voltage.....you'll need the alt setup.
otherwise you'll overwhelm the charging system.
the crank pulley slows down the accessories...like the alt. by putting the alt pulley on it...it will return the alt to normal speed...keeping stock charging.

not true i just have the 25% asp crank pulley and the stock alternator pulley...i have mcintosh and rockford fosgate power amp...chraging is fine when i got it tuned for the converter i had them just bump the idle 100 rpm...but really it was just for peace of mind...seems to work okay for me...wouldn't waste the money on the overdrive alternator pulley...
and actually the one you have shown looks like a 25% underdrive crank and 15% underdrive alternator...any ways just get the crank and call it a day...

i'm not saying the car won't run if you have a stereo and don't overdrive the alt.
but to make sure there is sufficient charge is the reason for having the alt pulley....regardless of how it works on your car.
i think it comes into play more with autos...since they idle lower in gear than the manuals.
i know with my ASP pulley, if i run alot of accessories....headlights (100w), fogs, wipers, radio.....i can watch the headlights dim when i come to a stop. they brighten back up when i get above idle.

i have over 600 real watts runign along with head lights and all the other acc. and my head light barely dim when i got it extremely loud...do what you want but if you are going to get the over drive alt. pulley you might as well just get the 10% crank pulley and call it even...
