Default Map Sensor Help

how do you know if your map sensor is acting up? my stock idle is high, even in gear. I'm guessing it could be a vacuum leak, although I didnt find a loose hose, I am also leaning towards a faulty Idle Air Control...

It could be a throttle position sensor...mine did the high idle and I replaced the TPS and it cured it. A scan with a Tech II will probably tell you what is going on with your engine.

A bad MAP sensor (reading too high) will make the car run rich and terrible. High idle can be a host of different scenarios. As mentioned, get it scanned first.

If it is a TPS it will only cost you about $30 or so if my memory serves me..might be a little more cause I work at a Chevy dealer and get parts on the cheep...it only takes about 2 minutes to change one out ...
