Re: Dual Exhaust..Best Place to Buy???
More than likely you'll have to buy 2 bullet mufflers of your choice and have a shop make you an x or h pipe to go with it. There are a few places out there that make kits but they cost a lot of money. Cheapest way is to have a shop custom make it.

It would be better if you call him (Lanes) and get a quote. Do a search and you can obtain phone number or email. He can build whatever you want and with various combination. Certain combinations are listed on their website. Mine is with FLP Headers+Collectors+XPipe+Spintech muffers on 3 inch pipe which dumped before the rear axle. It is not cheap but the work speaks for itself. It gives you the extra edge in power at track. See times in sig for track. Hopes this helps. Kent1

Re: Dual Exhaust..Best Place to Buy???
Thanks for the reply Kent, could you tell me how much you spent for yours? I dont really want to go through the trouble of pricing if its more than $500. I was just wondering if ordering the whole setup from Lanes would be a better choice than buying the 2 bullets, 2 turndowns, and (possibly) a X, plus fabbing.

A guy (non-sponsor) here in cali makes true duals for the ls1. If you opt for headers and cats, you can get the removable cats and put in a pipe when racing.
If you want a link, just email me. I don't think he ships though.

IM GONNA PUT MY HEADERS @ SCHOOL WHERE THERE IS A LIFT, THEN DRIVE IT OVER TO A MUFFLER SHOP WHERE THEY WILL PUT TOGETHER= HEADMAN XTREME JUNCTION-$89 FROM SUMMIT, 2 BULLET MUFFLERS $36 EACH. THE MUFFLER SHOP WILL PROVIDE EVERYTHING ELSE. I JES PRINTED OUT A PICTURE OF TRUE DUALS FROM FORUM AND SHOWED IT TO THE MUFFLER GUYS AND THEY SAID ITLL BE PRETTY EASY. HOPE EVERYTHING TURNS OUT. I CALLED LANES AND I THINK TRUE DUALS WAS LIKE 5 OR 6 HUNDRED DOLLARS PLUS SHIPPING TO HAWAII WHICH WILL TURN OUT ABOUT CLOSE TO 9 HUNDRED DOLLARS JES FOR TRUE DUALS!

Re: Dual Exhaust..Best Place to Buy???
I bought the bullets myself and had some local barrio exhaust place do mine. Cost me a 120, for the custom set up. Sounds great and I was really impressed with the work. I have my car lowered almost 2 inches and no worries about rubbing on anything at all so far...also the best part is NO MORE BANGING Y-PIPE

LS1 spped over the axel kit is like $1200, Lanes like 600 before the axel....Muffler shop installs Jegs or Dr. Gas kit which run about $500 including the x and all materials if you stay with cheaper mufflers. I say have muffler shop give you over the axel 2 1/2" pipes and spend $650is...better Pick up you own mandel bent tubes to give to them if you want mandrel...summit sells various bends for custom work.

I am still deciding if its worth the money and what little gain I might get with duals over my Mac headers w/orp and loudmouth. Around here theres a place that will do 2 1/2" duals, straight pipes, no x pipe, going over the axle and out the back for $450.

Re: Dual Exhaust..Best Place to Buy???
My advice is this: Use a Dr. Gas X(we'll soon be testing a stainless Bassani X system however ). Or at least some type of crossover. The Dr. Gas X has dyno'd best for us over everything else we've tried. And - whatever the header collector is, use the same diameter X crossover. IE - Hookers = 3", use 3" X.
Use all mandrel bends
Good mufflers - Dynomax bullet, Magnaflow Magnapacks, or Flo-Pro Twisters work very well. The Twisters have been very popular with us. They cruise quietly, make great power, but still sound very mean when you want them to.
And make sure you have someone that knows what they're doing and will stand behind their work.
We've done over 100 systems now, and are still refining them.
And remember - you get what you pay for.

Re: Dual Exhaust..Best Place to Buy???
I've got a buddy doing a true dual all the way out the back, x-pipe, 2 bullets, mandrel bent for $500 total, $250 parts and $250 labor. See if u can find someone like that.
