Default Ported TB gains & where to send it?

I think I'm gonna do a ported TB soon. With Bo White out of the game, where should I send it? Who is not overpriced? Also will I need to retune at all after or no? Finally, what can I expect gain wise? I will be doing the TB bypass mod too. Maybe 5-6 RWHP?

I wouldn't expect too much but every little bit helps. Here's a recent thread about it:

Humm, interesting thread. Seems gains are anywhere from 3-10. I'd be happy with 4 or 5 RWHP.

I don't think that guy does them anymore but I'd go with someone that is proven. I bought mine secondhand from someone that had Bo White port their TB. I couldn't have any downtime so that was the route I had to go. As mentioned, try New Era. They seem to have very pleased customers.

I wouldn't worry as much about the hp number you gain compared to the better driveability you will get. The ported TB gave me much better throttle response and the car drives a lot better. I would still do it again even if it made no hp gains on the dyno. I put a stock TB back on(it's for sale by the way) for about 2 days and couldn't believe how much more throttle it took to get the car moving. It was a dog! I was troubleshooting a slight ping/knock problem and the stock TB made no difference so I put the ported one right back on.

Well I sent a request about becoming a sponsor to port throttle bodies but never got a reply with how much to pay and where to send it

Anyhow, I have done a few and today I went to the dyno and put my buddies stock tb on and made 2 runs which were the same, then I pulled the stocker off and put on my ported one, it gained between 6-7rwhp, and between 5-6rwtq. Here's a cell phone pic I took when I ported it back in 05.
