went to track last night..WTF!! pleaassee HELP!!
Went to track last night with my bone stock 01' ta ws6 6 speed. track conditions were 65 degrees in maryland. Went a 13.90 at 103.99 mph with a 2.26 60 foot...WTF I had a 98 formula with a coulpe basic mods that went 13.2 at 105..I thought the 00 and newer ws6 went at least 106 in the quarter with a mid to low 13....WAS not powershifting, but shifting at about six grand every shift. Should i have shifted at like 5500 to third or fourth? HELP PLEASE!!!! Also ran car twice with same times almost...I shift pretty fast so i know thats not it...Any help or SUGGestions please LIST!!! thanks in advance guys!!

I bet you didn't go 13.2 on a 2.26 60ft.
You need traction.
Also, the weather has alot of effect on MPH (HP).

I have an 02 with Lid Corsa and PRO-5.0. First pass bogged and just shifted normal fast (No Power shifting) 13.52 108 2.28 60'.I think there is something up with your car mybe you have a turd or your real down on power because of a problem just guessing though. Yeah had a 99 with 1400 miles bone stock went 13.26 104 2.0xx 60'.
I do not know what to tell you except maybe go have it put on a scanner and see if there is any unusual Knock reading causing it to retard your timing?Sorry

It looks like you werent hookin' very good. My 02 TA WS6 M6 with a few boltons went a 12.9 @ 111 so your car is definitely faster than it ran that night.

i suppose if it was really humid that may have slowed you down a little 65 degrees seems like a prime temp to me. seems like your 60' could be a little better, it's hard to launch one of these with an M6 and stock tires. most of the times i've seen with stock M6 01-02 cars are around 13.5 - 13.8 and 104-106.
i don't power shift, just run everything out to 6k. i'm planning on doing more experimenting when i get some more time at the track.
i don't know how many times you've run your car but for me it was mostly about practice. i ran a lot of 13.8s stock. now i run relatively consitent 13.30s and occasionally dip into the 13.20s.
EDIT: my 13.23 was with a 2.2 60'. that was with a lid, loudmouth, K&N filter, lous short stick. it was very very cold that night i think it was between 38-40 degrees. i ran 13.29 a month ago with the same mods, 2.1 60', at about 70 degrees .

With the truck cam in the '01-'02 models, peak power is made at 5500 or so when they are completely stock. The only reason to turn 'em tighter than that is to dial in your post-shift RPM (read: the RPM that you "land" at after up shifting).
However, it's a trade off... if you decide to turn the motor past its power peak in an effort to land in a more adventageous spot in the power band after the shift, the question is whether it takes longer for the motor to go from 5500 to 6000 (before the shift) or from 3600 to 4000 (after the 1-2 shift; if you shift out of first at 6000, you will "land" right at 4000 RPM, but if you shift at 5500, you will end up at 3600 RPM).
While I have never taken my car to the track, I found that a 5500 RPM shift point hit the tires considerably harder and I always fared better in a little "stop light grand prix" when shifting "early".

You need more practice! My very first time out at the track ( w/ a '01 WS6) I ran a 13.7 @ 106mph w/ a 2.2 60' time. I ran consistently better throughout the night. I put 2 more runs in and got a best of 13.5 bonestock. I knew it had more in her too! Just practice!

YOU NEED TRACTION! I RAN A 13.2 @ 106 MPH(CONSISTENT) NOT POWERSHIFTING WIT A LID, FTRA, AND BFGS. I WAS LAUNCHING @ 33 TO 35 RPM. HOPE TO HIT THE 12'S WHEN I INSTALL MY JETHOT LT'S AND TRUE DUALS.

Yes, it takes practice. As for the "landing at certain rpm" mentioned above, I would say run it to 6k! My experience is shifting at 5700 got me a best of 13.2 @ 108 and shifting at 6k got me a 12.90 @ 111. Same mods.

You shift into 4th?
But I only ran that at a 13.314 with a crappy 2.263 60' also, I need some traction too
