Ironically, I just PM'd you about your lid MattD. I ordered one and am waiting on it. Is the Fast Toys 85mm lid fitment just a manageable fitment that works, or, does it really fiit THAT good? The bulkhead design looks like it will flow really well, however, with a WS9 hood, I'm afraid the hood will run the lid.
johnster > in your sig you list a 85mm lid > what brand is it?
anybody > anybody know the difference between the exit opening of MTI and other aftermarket lids? The Fast Toys lid exit opening inside diameter looks like it's 90mm to fit up to a 85mm MAF.
Not trying to thread-jack ... just thinking this info would also be helpful to the OP.

Yes we are the only place making an 85mm air lid right now. We also have an adapter available so you can use it with the smaller stock type MAF which allows you to upgrade down the road

JEB99TA: I didn't get a PM, (It's Matt *space* D) but to answer your question, it fits PERFECTLY! It is snug and there are no gaps were it meets the radiator shroud which is also common with other lids that are too loose. With all of the boltons minus, an electric water pump at the time of the dyno, the car put down 340hp/348tq on a Mustang chassis dyno, and that is with the 4400 stall and 3.73 gears, on slicks.

LOL!!! Well, somebody named MattD (without no space) has a PM ... hehehe! Thanks for replying here Matt. I appreciate the info very much. Can't wait 'til I can get out to the track with the new additions. With the new 1 7/8" primaried American Racing headers, I'm hoping the the motor will get better flow with the bigger lid exit opening and the larger bulkhead of the 85mm lid.

Well, I guess my WS9 hood is different in front from the WS6 because when the hood closes, the two bottom snorkels in front of the nose are blocked by the design of the hood. I got my JAAM plate yesterday and installed it. I was disappointed with my hood. The plate is really nice. I though a minute, looked at the hood and decided I wasn't gonna' get beat at this.
Got out my dremmel tool and cut out 2 gaping holes 2 1/2" x 5 1/2" from the front of the hood. Now, when the hood is closed, there's nowhere for the air to go but right into the bottom of the airbox and the plate steers it right in.
Also, there WAS a 1/4" lip just above where the JAAM plate sits on the back side which would be catching a slight tad of air ... just under front of the airbox. Well, I took a 5 lb sledge and a piece of a 2x4 and beat that f**ker down and now there's a nice slope going from the JAAM plate up into the airbox.
My Fast Toys 85 mm air lid will be here any day now. If my intake is not force fed by the time I get through with it, well, ram air just ain't possible with ANY setup. It should be like a hurricane coming in as I accelerate.
I'm gonna' prove once-and-for-all ,to myself, whether ram air works that well or not. If I gain .2 on ET or better/2 mph or better, then, anybody can argue it any way they want to ... either it works for me or it doesn't ... with the timeslips to prove it. That's enough for me. Wish me luck fella's.

Launching!
Would Fast Toys or some other company please make an intake tube from the 90mm TB to the MAF to complete the system. I have had such a pain in the pooter time finding something to work.
