Where to get a y-pipe for hookers?
I see that hooker has their own. But isnt the mufflex about the same thing? How do they compare? If so where can I buy the mufflex Y from? And is the coating really neccasary? I dont paln on having the headers that long. And has anyone put dual cutouts on their y-pipe, if so I want some details

You can also get a Mufflex direct from Mufflex like I did. Wasn't exactly the cheapest route.
My Mufflex didn't line up with my Hooker headers.
I assumed this was Mufflex's fault as the install had to cut my new Mufflex Y pipe apart and weld it back to get it to fit with my Hooker headers.
However, later I've been told sometimes Hookers quality control is sloppy enough that not all of Hookers LT's have the collectors oriented exactly the same. I also so told the Mufflex Y's are exactly the same so any fit issue like I had is a fault on Hookers part.
I don't know either way. I do know the Hookers and Mufflex Y don't always just match up and a little cutting and rewelding isn't out of the question.
Also unless your doing a cam or head and cam etc, the Mufflex Y is probably overkill on a bolt on car. Two friends joked it looked like something of a Winston Cup/Nextel Cup car.
Now the good part about the Mufflex is it tucks up nice and tight. It's easier to adjust and it won't bang floor board when properly adjusted.
It also one mean as hell looking pipe.

I'll probably be running a mufflex y pipe once I get my Mac headers off and my Thunder racing LTs on. I hear that the mufflex y pipe fits perfectly with the Thunder headers. I want to upgrade to a 4 inch catback eventually, so the mufflex y pipe is like a no brainer for me.

the mufflex y pipe is nothing like the hooker y pipe. the mufflex version has a real flowmaster collector and will always make more power than the hooker y.
