Default LS6 Maf conversion

Anybody converted to the new LS6 maf? 2002 and up LS6 maf's are supposedly 3.5-3.75" in diameter and use a 5 pin connection.

My shopping list right now is:
1) The maf itself (2002 up have no screen, 2001 have a screen)
2) The 5 pin wiring harness pigtail
3) A coupler to retrofit it onto my car (C5)

After install I'll use LS1 edit to replace the MAF table with the new one.

My questions are, anybody know the GM part #'s for #1 and #2? Who's done this?

Looks like the 2002 LS6 maf part # is 25341604.

Now I'll look into the connector.

If I use the part from Pace, will I have to change the MAF table in edit, or is it a plug and play application? (ie. I want to put a zo6 maf on an ls1 will this thing work or do I need to have it tuned?0

It looks like PACE calibrates it for LS1's so tuning wouldnt be necessary. I may just buy the uncalibrated one and change the table in LS1edit.

Going on what you guys are saying. Could it be possible to buy the base model corvette maf for the 2002 corvette pop the screen out. Then apply the 2002 z06 mass settings in the maf table in edit. The base corvette maf is aroud $30 cheaper than the z06. I believe its just the settings in the pcm that been adjusted not the maf for the z06.

Is there any difference in between the 01 Z06 MAF and the 02 Z06 MAF other than the 02 Z06 MAF does not have a screen?

Not too sure...has anyone found out the part number for the wiring adapater. And is the adapater all that is needed to make it work in an ls1?

My local dealership wouldn't tell me the part # unless I bought it, and they wanted $33.

I have a new 2002 ZO6 MAF with the adapter if anyone whats to buy it. This one has no screen and is 85mm. It's also calibrated for LS1 engines. It's the one Speed Inc. sells. Never installed or used. I can let go for $130 (obo) shipped. Oh and I also have pics. Just ask. Later

pace sells all the stuff you want, so just get it from there..

uploading the appropriate edit fiel will be a closer tune than the way pace does it (adds a resistor to the maf)

either way do not expect to pick up a notiecable amount of hp with it.. if you do gain any its because your tune was off beforehand..

i still use a stock maf on my car, its the best way to go.. its calibration allows for higher horsepower before it maxes out in the computer.. actually an lt1 meter is the best.

The 2001 ZO6 screened MAF is the same size as the 2002 MAF and can be found on all trucks. As a matter of fact it is the exact same P/N as the truck MAF. I would not buy the PACE MAF with the resistor added (I did at one time). The resistor cannot calibrate the MAF properly IMHO. I bought the 2001 screened MAF without the resistor and their five wire adapter and then used the '01 ZO6 MAF tables to start tuning from. These are the values:

MAF freq 1500 1625 1750 1875 2000 2125 2250 2375 2500 2625 2750 2875 3000 3125 3250 3375 3500 3625 3750 3875 4000 4125 4250 4375 4500 4625 4750 4875 5000 5125 5250 5375 5500 5625 5750 5875 6000 6125 6250 6375 6500 6625 6750 6875 7000 7125 7250 7375 7500 7625 7750 7875 8000 8125 8250 8375 8500 8625 8750 8875 9000 9125 9250 9375 9500 9625 9750 9875 10000 10125 10250 10375 10500 10625 10750 10875 11000 11125 11250 11375 11500 11625 11750 11875 12000

Now I'm confused. The adapter had a 5 pin in and a 3 pin out and what looked like a 2 pin out. What is the second connector? Temp?

Yes, the IAT is built-in to the MAF!

I used the PACE VV for LS1's and it leaned me out way too much. I agree with John B, get tuning to really take advantage of the MAF. Full-circle; after 4 years of playing with these cars, the stock MAF is the best in my opinion UNLESS you can tune for a different MAF.

Cool guys, I've got one on the way. I'll probably be retuning with LS1 edit after I get the maf (at the minimum I'll be updating my tables).
