Default What do you guys think about the granatelli mass air meters?

I used to have one on my 99 trans am back in 2000, It did pick the car up a little performance wise. I'm looking into mass air meters and want opinions. I know I'm not going to pay $300 for a new one but wouold it be worth $100-$150 for a used one?

I run one because my stock one went bad, and I paid $10 for it, yes $10, with like 20 miles on it.

I had to tune the car to make it run right.

I would NOT reccomend any GMS product for any LS1 f-car.

Really I ran the gms lid and the mass air meter on my old 99 ta and never had a problem. It was basicly a bolt on car with a dry shot of NoS. I was happy with the lid and mass air meter. What problems did you have?

I have one and my car runs great with it. It actually leans out the motor a bit which it needs. My '01 formula with stock motor (no headers) except for GMAFS, Lid and pulley runs 12.02 @112 with a 3,600 vig and 3.73s. Just my opinion.

They are a wst of money. I bought a HD3500 maf which is also 85mm for $25 and descreen it. This maf is a 5 prong maf so you need to get a 5 prong connector from the dealer which is $7. Compare your maf to the new one at the connector and you can see plus sign and minus sign and a number. wire these into your new connector which will fit your new maf and you don't need the other 2 being that the air intake temp. sending unit is on the lid. So now you got the same size maf for almost nothing plus about an hour of your time. Good Luck
