is my water pump ok?
i've been having overheating problems latly ever since i put my iron block in . i tryed to fix it with dual spal fans that do the job very well , except when the AC is on .
even driving down the hiway in 110 ambient temps the car would overheat untill i turn the AC off. i changed the thermostat and i have a becool radiator.
this all leads me to the question , today i took the belt off and as i spun the water pump , a faint but noticable whirring noise (just like something was rubbing the pully) was coming from the waterpump. is this sound normal , or is my water pump going bad.
this is the stock 99 pump that has 65k hard miles on it.

Your pump sounds like it may be going south if it is making any whirring noise when you manually turn it with your hand. I may have an almost brand new water pump that has less than 400 miles on it in a week or two for you for a pretty good deal.
