Question Fast Toys Velocity Stack??

http://fasttoys.net/shop/product_inf...oducts_id=1251

Hmm, is this as good as it sounds; anyone use it? I really don't want to spend $300 on a new STOCK sized TB that is P&P'd; matter of fact, i don't want to spend any money on a new TB that is stock sized, and i don't really want to be bothered with P&P my own TB if this is worth it.

Do you get the same results as having a P&P'd TB? Im very intrested...

IMHO - I'll stick with my port/polish/epoxy'd TB. It's not expensive but I agree; I wouldn't spend more on a stock sized TB.

Once you open up the stocker,,they flow quite nice,,there are plenty of high powered cars running Stock TB's (some not even PnP'ed)

when u think about "buying" an aftermarket TB,,if your changing your size (90mm) it becomes "worth it" to spend 400.00,,other than that, that cash can be spent on other more inportant mods since your stocker can become a performance piece. Guess it really depends on your goals and budget.

I think you guys are confusing the purpose of a velocity stack.

Either right off the tb:

OR:
Off of an intake

They work.

im just looking for an easier (cheaper) solution to porting my TB or swapping it out. I can't find a write up on how to P&P your stock TB; i ASSUME it is the same process as P&P you MAF, but you know what they say when you "assume"....

There are many people on tech that will send you a ported stock unit, and you swap it out send yours back, kinda like a core charge

I dont think the OP is looking at that huge tube you got goin on there,,,probably a plastic fitting that sits inside the TB, only guessing

it is not the same as doing a MAF,,you can very easliy screw stuff up if not done correctly....and in a bunch of different areas,,,blade area, hump area, thin areas, coolant line areas, etc, etc, etc.

Velocity stacks work, period. The problem you're going to run into with out platforms is hood clearance and filtering the stack. It would be cheaper to just port your own throttle body that buying a velocity stack. Try a search. There's about a bajillion write ups on how to do it.

A velocity stack isn't what you are looking at because it doesn't come out past the TB. A velocity stack allows you to fine tune the power band taller more mid range, shorter more topend. From what that looks like is only "smoothes" out the airflow. I would think it is a waste.
