SLP Headers, Passenger Install, prying tranny
yes, the infamous passenger side SLP header help needed,,,
I know these arnt everyones favorite headers, i already understand that, the clearance, etc, etc, etc,,,
i just need help with..
The tranny brace,,,does removeing the 4 15 mm bolts that hold the big black (stock, 2000 WS6) tranny brace really allow me enough room??
What about the shifter,, no need to do anything, it will just move with the tranny as my buddy does the 2x4 pry move?
Dr side is no issue but not installed so i can do the passernger side first...
Is there a "best place" to put the jack under the tranny b4 removeing the 4 bolts?
thanx for the help

yep, SLP's. passenger side is, well, super tight. Car is up as far as i can go on my 2 foot 6 tons (front and back), and to be honest, am a lil paranoid of "prying" on my tranny,,looks as if that is my only way up there.

i know, i know,,there are tons you could tell me, tons ive read (yes, a bunch of yours) but lets keep this thread on my install questions.
could i just place my jack under the brace itself?, once the 4 bolts removed, it should shift when pryed on, right?
I appreciate your wanting to let me know the bad stuff, i do, but for what i paid, im happy,,just havin one of those "not wanting to hear anything go crunch" moments, and need some help.

another way is to loosen airbox so engine will lift after you removed your engine mount bolts. of course your starter has to come out for this. either the bolts to the frame(4) on each side or the 2 long bolts that look to be easy. after they are out you can lift the engine enough to slide the header in

all went very easy after removeing the 4 tranny cross brace bolts. wedged it over (i just placed my jack under the brace itself) once that happened, the passenger side SLP header went right in!!!
i did not remove my plugs, coilpacks, etc
i did have to remove my steering linkage and oil filter,,drivers side slide in without having to move the tranny
Thanx everyone,,i will have the header install completed tomorrow, and will post up some results and pics!!!
Thanx Again!!
