Default Pulse Plugs?

Anyone ever here of these plugs? Supposedly they are 20,000x more powerful then a conventional spark plug. According to one of those tests a 5.3 Avalanche gained 37ft lbs...very hard to believe. They have a ad in Popular Science and can be found here www.pulstarplug.com.

These plugs come with a high asking price..$25 per plug...$200+ for a spark plug change anyone? Anyone know what the deal is?

didn't the Split Fires they used to sell burn so hot they used to burn the piston heads? if they are 20,000x more power then standard plugs, wouldn't that burn the piston heads or valves?

http://www.sparkplugs.com/sparkplug4...fid=0&KID=3147

Nice dyno comparisons there on different spark plugs, and the pulse. Doesnt look like they are really any better then any other "performance" plug out there.

Back about 6 months ago we challenged the company to let us do an independant test in our enclosed climate controlled chassis dyno facility and expected them to ignore us. Put-up-or-shut=up is the way we posted it. Low and behold they sent 2 sets. Do a search on the corvette forum to see the detailed test results. We spent an entire day on 2 different new C6 vettes. 1 bone stock & 1 heads/cam/tune NOT done by us...totally unbiased.

The results were interesting to say the least....they DO work as advertised (well close, they may be exagerating a bit) but it was sure an eye opening experiance. One thing for sure, i would NOT use them in a FI application due to the intensity of the spark generated but the results were proof that they do work. We have one of the only totally enclosed climate controlled chassis dynos open to the public in the SE and we were able to duplicate every run condition as close as possible.

In summary, we ended up w/more questions after the day than we had to begin with. The company has offered to send more sets to test on pass cars & light trucks but we have not had the time to set a day or two aside yet.

Hi, Tracy

Thanks for the information. Can you please attach a link to the test. I tried a search in the Corvette section & could not find it. Also, from your test or in your proffessional opinion, is there a possibility of piston damage caused by too much heat from the plug? Thank-you

I'm on the road but will post the link when I can.

I don't think there is with the average passenger car, but there for sure would be a concern with a boosted application. With most every car from the factory with a canned tune that is mostly rich, the plugs should help.

well even if it works y would you spend 200+ dollars on plugs that you will replace later down the road any ways. if you have the money do it but the average person will not buy these. just the guy with the F430 and the 911 turbo will

I would not use them on ant FI application due to the intensity of the spark, but they could pay for themselves over time w/increased fuel economy as a result of the A/F showing better than a stock plug w/the stock tune.

I'd like to see the results. I'd have to be very compelled to spend $200 on plugs, but hey I spent $250 on a dyno tune to pick up 20-25 hp...
