Default ls2 intake manifold on a 5.3

I got my new motor and would love to swap out the big old truck intake manifold for a slimmer more eye pleasing ls2 or ls1 intake manifold. I was wondering if it was an easy task to do and if I would gain or lose power from it?

LS2 manifold is really the worst flowing of the GM manifolds. I would shoot for an LS6 or at least an LS1.

There are members on this site whom have cut off the bottom in order to access the inside of the LS2 intake. Once the internal support towers are removed & the internal runner openings are trumpeted, the LS2 intake flows very well. IF you have the tools to do this & then weld the bottom back on (nylon weld, it's easy), then this may be a good option for you.
